Our class can access an online digital library, with 35,000 different books, learning vidoes, and quizzes from home! We did not use this site in class, so it will be new to them! I created each student an account (to sign in, read the directions below). Once your child is on their account, they can read stories of their choice. I am also assigning stories to students that go with the standards we are working on in our home learning assignments.

This year, PWCS implemented a new math curriculum called Origo. I am excited that you can now access their curriculum from home!
ORIGO At Home provides an intentional daily routine organized to introduce, reinforce, and extend the math concepts and skills students typically learn at this point in the school year.
Each of the weeks provides 5 daily activities organized around a specific math topic. To help establish a rhythm for learning at home, each day of the week has a focus:
Monday - Read & Discuss
Tuesday - Hands on Math
Wednesday - Problem-solving
Thursday - Game Day (Digital Practice)
Friday - Practice
Depending on your families needs and resources, you might complete multiple activities in a day or skip an activity from time to time. The learning from the Monday activity is especially important to set the week up for success, so I encourage you to complete the activities in order, even if you do not complete them all.
To start:
Choose United States, First Grade, and start at Week 1.
https://www.origoeducation.com/athome/
The lesson plan format provides everything needed for instruction and is written so that caregivers can implement it on their own. Students can engage in the work on a device or resources can be downloaded for printing. You can even print out all of the resources ahead of time to prepare for the week! Student resources are also available in Spanish.

Our class loves our weekly readers published by Scholastic. Scholastic offers a Learn at Home program where students can access materials for THREE HOURS a day! This is an amazing opportunity for students to extend their learning at home. There are articles and stories, videos, and fun learning challenges. I highly encourage families to take advantage of this in case of school closures.
